They are wood, they would adventually need to be replaced after a few heavy rainstorms. I will however have a constant flow of pallets weekly so as the pallets become absorbed with water we can swap them out as long as sanitation has a way of disposing of them. I feel this is our best option since they are free. Plastic ones last forever but i cannot find them free anywhere.

what is this insulation board made of? if its foam it could be useful but if it is something that holds water and breaks apart I feel like it is bad. some insulation board is basically made of paper pulp and just breaks down in the water. the park really shouldnt just put things in that are going to make big messes and become difficult to clean.

See below. I just got this email from a man who has one son in OWS NYC and another in OWS PHILLY. He can bring 20 pallets in on Friday or Saturday morning. He's coming from Allentown PA so he wants to be sure we can use them. He can also bring in 4x8 sheets of 1" thick insulation board.
So A) shall i tell him yes come!
and B) should i send him directly to Zuccotti and set him up with a specific person to meet him.
I would come down myself but I am running a writing workshop for veterans Friday through Sunday and will be tied up with that. I can give him some $ for gas.
Please get back to me ASAP i would hate for this amazing offer to pass us by!

Subject: wooden pallets
Hi, my name is Ron Smith my son Sam is at OWS NY the other Ian is at OWS Philly. I notice that you are in need of wooden pallets. I can bring in a pickup load (about 20 pallets) either Friday evening or Saturday morning. I am coming in from the Allentown, PA so I don’t want to make the trip with my truck unless you need them. I usually just take the bus to visit OWS. I can also bring in 4x8 sheets of 1” thick insulation board. I you want me to bring them in should I drop them off at Zuccotti Park or at Fulton St.?
