|Subject:||SPAM-MED: [GlobalRevolutionMedia] I think we should be discussing Bitcoin more.|
OWS NYC GA already accepts donations via Bitcoin, but I think we
should be discussing Bitcoin more.
Why is there not more discussion about Bitcoin among OWS supporters?
It really is the money of the future, and free of banks, governments,
It's open source, completely decentralized, free, no fees, electronic
cash, irreversible transactions, and as anonymous as you want it to
be... It is NOT a company, a bank, an organization, a web site, etc.
It is peer-to-peer distributed like bittorrent. It is 100% legal.
Bitcoin can be sent as easily as sending an email.
It's the world's first and only 100% decentralized currency --- "the
people's money". It's also limited in quantity. There will never
be more than 21 million Bitcoin. However, infinitely divisible ( for
example, 0.00000001 Bitcoin ). So, in the future, as the value of
Bitcoin goes up... We may be buying a cup of coffee for 5 "millionths
of a Bitcoin".
It's also a lot safer than a bank. One Bitcoin was trading for about
$0.06 around November 5, 2010. And now.... one Bitcoin is about
$2.94 as of November 5, 2011. If my math is correct, that's about an
increase of 49 times its value gained in only 12 months.... and, at
that rate of growth... over the course of one year... That was an
annual return on investment of 4900%. ( In the same year, gold went
up 25% and silver went up 50%. Bitcoin went up 4900%. )
See http://bitcoinme.com for info. Also, here is an open Google
Group about it https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/bitcoinpeople
Come to think of it, I should start a regular teach-in about Bitcoin... :-)
