do you need a separate hotspot? i thought the eye fi creates its own hotspot that your phone connects to.

I use this all the time. You need a hotspot and a laptop/iPad/iPhone/android. Every time you snap a photo it transfer to the device

Hey All,

Just wanted to suggest a possible way to avoid the police deleting all of your photos in the event of arrest.  Check out http://www.eye.fi/.  This is an SD card that creates a WIFI network to send photos to computers or better yet SMARTPHONES.  Takes a little patience getting the pipeline set up, but once configured, your camera will send photos to a smartphone which can send them to an online repository.  There is a mode that will delete originals from the card after they are backed up online.

I've only used it sparingly as I'm not doing to much photo work for this event, but it may be worth looking into,
