Subject:   [september17discuss] Office of the Police Monitor Ordinance to be Released to the Public

In light of the recent circumstances and the political climate in the City of Dallas regarding police brutality and police terrorism, I have made the decision to release the Office of the Police Monitor Ordinance constructed by Communities Organizing Against Police Terrorism over the last year to the public.  I can see no better time than this to do so.

Taking this into account, and that the document needs minor tweaks to finalize I am calling a COAPT Meeting this weekend to finalize for filing on Monday of next week.  I need your help and your support in pushing this into the public eye.  Time is of the essence...

Here is the rough plan:  Meet and Finalize this weekend:  Make Phone Calls to Community Leaders to gather support.  Schedule to speak at City Council at the next available meeting to publicly present the Ordinance:  File with the City Secretary on Monday:  Find a City Council member to put this up for a vote:

If you have ideas or suggestions hit me up asap.

Solidarity,
