Like all of you, I'm disappointed by the court's ruling today.
However, let's keep in mind the amazing things that have been
accomplished up to this point and use that to propel our movement to
I only participate in three working groups and sub-working groups, so
I know that those who deal with the day-to-day organizing have much
more pressing concerns at the moment and a lot to figure out.
But I just want to express my heartfelt gratitude right now to
everyone in this movement who have all permitted me to meet like-
minded people who want to effect change in this country and the world.
I have had the opportunity to make connections with the most
fascinating, intelligent, accomplished and powerful people that I have
ever met in my life.
The movement has served as a kind of hub for people to share ideas and
organize around a number of critically important issues in a number of
Now those connections have been made, and they're not going anywhere!
The predatory segments of the 1% cannot stop us; it is way too late.
We have changed the conversation in this country and the world, and
the continued organizing and action that we take is going to make sure
that we have changed the conversation permanently. We're never going
back to the old paradigm because we are sick of it and have put our
foot down once and for all.
Like the Spanish movement before us, let's light a fire under the
different working groups and get down to some serious organizing to
make sure that we are building new institutions and new alliances.
Let's start new democratically-run businesses and financial
institutions. Let's pool our labor and capital and build alternative
structures of power that pool risk and leverage our solidarity.
They can't fucking stop us. They won't fucking stop us. We are the
99%, and we are just getting started.
