Symbolic victories won't stop foreclosures, end police oppression, create jobs, or give food and shelter to those without it.  They'll make us feel good for a moment, but I don't think that's enough.  I'd love to see Bloomberg go, but unless he's replaced by a genuine radical (which I imagine the Deputy Mayor is not), our problems will remain, if not worsen.
