Right now we need a few people that will take shifts monitoring the
mail lists, greeting people who announce to the list they would like
to help, and on-boarding people with basic information on what is
online, what is being worked on, and where to go for more
We will work with the online groups to define standard
greeting/orientation messages that they approve.
Also needed, mail list administrators who understand the
capabilities of the mail list tools being used and evaluate how to
All of this would be in co-ordination with the various working
groups and their stated needs.
- a mail list solution that is intelligent enough to greet
non-list members with a welcome and orientation message (google
groups can NOT do this)
- work with various groups on setup and management of announce
type mail lists (outbound communication only)
- define lists for incoming request for info and volunteers
The FLO recommended free network foundation solution is probably
the better way to go long term. If someone is familiar with all the
capabilities of the FNF based mail lists and can take a look at if
non-member default greeting reply e-mails are possible with that
tool, it would be awesome.

I'd like to post OWS blog-type content (occasional articles, images,

someone like some content or else possibly create a group blog? I
know wordpress and can offer hosting if necessary.
