Hi, I just joined this group. I'm working on the outreach committee
and wanted to get a clearer view of what is going on with the online
strategy so outreach can better use the site to connect with people
who want to participate in the movement. But I saw this thread and am
kind of confused already: If occupywallst.org is not run by NYCGA and
does not directly represent the people in the park or working on the
committees, then why does the NYCGA flyer list the general and press
contacts for NYCGA as *@occupywallst.org?

Hi Beka, Winter, Snafu et al.
Just to explain the confusion about the websites:
Occupywallst.org is an autonomous support group for the occupation, they
have independently supported the movement for sometime now.
NYCGA.cc (NYC General Assembly) was formed back in JULY before Sept 17th
as just that: the website for the general assembly of NYC- the main
public group that meets daily at 7pm to discuss public concerns.
NYCGA WORKING & THEMATIVE GROUP lISThttp://nycga.cc/groups/
Within the NYCGA there are several working groups, one of them is INFO
working group, with stands in the park. The INFO is a working group of
NYCGA not OWS. (I think their email maybe confusing with the prefix OWS.)
In anycase, the internet group here can put up any minutes you have, on
the NYCGA site, just send them to us, if you are heading up a working
group and plan to be adding daily minutes we might be able to set up an
account for you.

Actually you are bringing a very interesting question. I just heard that
occupywallst.org <http://occupywallst.org/> is just a group of 4
individuals who do not necessarily respond to OWS. If that is true it is
an untenable situation, and perhaps the reason of the unresponsiveness
that I have also heard in many corners of the plaza. OWS should have
direct online presence, with a LOT of working unemployed people, not a
somehow "friendly" entity of a few people willing or not willing to post

I agree with Beka, the site of the GA should be more visible from
occupywallst.org <http://occupywallst.org>. As of now, there is the
tab NYCGA, but it is rather cryptic and I don't think it draws much
Why don't we add a link on the right-hand column, right below the
Where, Help&Directions, etc that says something like
"New York City General Assembly: Working Groups, Minutes, and
It would also make a lot of sense to set up Working Groups lists
(e.g. sept17-outreach@...) that can be easily accessed from the
NYCGA web site.

Thanks, and apologies if this is the wrong forum.
