Mirroring will work well if the communication is from the admin side
outward. If you are using WP to collect audience input, such as
comments, you start needing to jump through hoops to synch back to a
master database. This usually involves some form of clustering.
Clustering leads to its own unexpected issues, such as modules for RSS
feeds overwriting post IDs.
Net: if you are rolling with mirroring and you want engagement
features like commenting, offload those features to an external
service. a profile-based system link Disqus is pretty antithetical to
the goals of the movement - is there an open-source solution for
anonymous commenting that someone could recommend?
