FYI important wordpress scaling content I identified to date (from other discussions)

----snip ----

Scaling for wordpress is through separating the database and the introduction of multiple web server components and introducing the load balancing on the font end.  The diagram presented in the how to scale discussion is worth looking at, this posting is foreshadowing high scale deployment requirements ( )

and - The caching plugins mentioned are listed here as well, if not review these offering too.

Mirroring will work well if the communication is from the admin side outward. If you are using WP to collect audience input, such as comments, you start needing to jump through hoops to synch back to a master database.  This usually involves some form of clustering.  Clustering leads to its own unexpected issues, such as modules for RSS feeds overwriting post IDs.

Net: if you are rolling with mirroring and you want engagement features like commenting, offload those features to an external service. a profile-based system link Disqus is pretty antithetical to the goals of the movement - is there an open-source solution for anonymous commenting that someone could recommend?

Quoting Todd Grayson <>:

I am reaching out to the list to help identify administrators familiar with running a multi-site wordpress configuration.  The goal will be to run this wordpress configuration across mirrored locations.

If you are experienced with the migration/setup/mirroring of wordpress infrastructure and you are NOT currently working on the NYCGA.CC site update.  Please announce to the list your availability, skillset/background and we will contact you ASAP.

MySql Administration is also a needed skillset, DB admins please check in as well.

Thanks everyone for your ongoing hard work across all online operations teams!
