I was discussing the idea of working group "charters" with my SO the other day. Basically a group like "food" would set up a charter, much like a business, but their return to the "share holders" would be something like "feed all occupiers in Liberty Plaza"

They would then function like any other business, manage their own money, raise their own funds, pay workers (based on a min/max wage set by the GA), etc. They would have to keep in the black, but wouldn't have to worry about turning a profit, only fulfilling their charter. I'm not well versed in history but I think this is basically the original function of modern corporations...

On topic, I don't see an issue with making connections here, but I don't want this group to turn into a jobs board (there are lots out there). I know I breached the on-topicness of this board but it felt right.
