Hi All,

I am CC'ing Victoria and Pete from the Finance Working Group on this
message. I know that both of them are already aware of the situation
and I believe Pete even spoke with this guy on the phone.

What do you think, guys? Is there a problem here with Mr. Jedediah
Walls? He states very clearly on his wepay site (linked in previous
emails) that he is not official and is not linked directly to any part
of the movement, so I'm not sure where the concerns of fraud come in.
Tim - where and when did he say that our general fund was under
attack? And where/when did he say he would be starting 100 wepay
accounts? On both the wepay site and his google site, I see pretty
encouraging links to nycga.cc.

If someone wants to pass around hat to a collect money from their
community to help #OWS, I'm not sure that's wrong or bad. If they take
that effort digital, I don't really know that it changes anything. If
here were indeed lying to or misleading donators and saying that he
was an official conation channel, then I absolutely see the problem
and we would need to pursue serious ways to put and end to it. But I
don't see that happening. If he is skimming off the top more than he
claims to, I can see why donators would be pissed, but I don't really
see what we would be able to do about it.

Might want to bring Legal into the conversation?  Hello!  You must report
these interlopers to legal immediately and alert the authorities.  It was my
understanding the organization is a nonprofit that accepted donation for the
occupy wall street groups.  If someone is redirecting donations to
themselves, it's fraud!  The IRS does not take kindly to anyone misusing the
nonprofit tax exempt status to mislead the public.  This is a state attorney
general issue too.

He posted a generic email from victoria.
If he has the choice to post nycga links by posting his own he
is.litterally dipping into our funds and taking 8%. If he moves forward and
starts 100 more he could drown out our donation link (a little considering
we have the domain .org)
https://www.wepay.com/donate/80590
Does anyone have finances email?
Peter said he'd take care of it but now this guy is posting an email from
victoria that says "hello everyone"

That should get addressed to the GA and Finance.
Where monies are accepted from is very important and should be a GA
decision, and the Finance will have to deal with it. The new website should
include an area for taking questions to be addressed by the GA.

There is a new wepay set up for OWS that apparently has the blessing of
finance
However he is taking 8% for support costs plus 3.5% for wepay

He was originally raising money for tents until I asked him about it.
He took information from my profile on facebook and started telling people
That our general fund, was under attack and to give to him.

I tried telling him  taking 11.5% is not needed when all he has to do
is post the nycga link.
He is a professional fundraiser (as am I) probably just trying to make
money.
When I talked to him he accused me of trolling and lying.

Are we ok with ppl raising money for us online and "earmarking" 8% for
his costs?
As a fundraiser myself I am worried about where this will end up.
He has stated to mr he is going to start 100 wepay accounts.
