The issue here that i am trying to address is that patrick/justine affinity group which is on a consistent basis has engaged in behaviour that has tried to introduce hierarchy and fraud into this movement.
First you have patrick who was signing his emails for quite a while that he is the official spokesman for the movement.
Second there are a number of radio interviews where he actually says that.
Third - if you google patricks name The Spokesman and official spokesman comes up quite a lot from a lot of different sources - is it a case of a mass conspiracy by the media or is it Patrick communicating that he is the official spokesman?
Fourth - the fraud incident when Justine replaced all the donations links on occupywallst.org
page with one single link to her personal wepay to pay for new clothes.
Fifth - after a meeting about the above incident an agreement was reached that this affinity group will transfer the control of the website to internet working group - this has not happened yet to my knowledge and they are stalling.
Sixth - there was an incident in the very beginning of the assembly process where justine started censoring people on the website.
The incidents are piling up, and there is no personal accountability.
So.. i believe the best solution in these situations is to shine a really bright public light on this situation. it tends to make the cockroaches scatter

My two cents is don't let the media cause undue duress. The little influence they have is exactly this: they are framing individuals as leaders, they are talking about how we are struggling to stay non-violent, and they criticizing us in any way they find expedient. Someone at some point will be featured by a media organization. What we need to do is be confident that everyone is equally capable to speak about OWS. Beyond that, we are good. If Patrick continues to get more media attention, we could politely ask him to defer to others when questioned, but let's not lose our shirts about this... it's too damn cold for that.

google official spokesman it comes up a lot. google. do you want me to send you all the links? also "the" spokeman which means official spokesman comes up quite a bit as well... here is the thing justine. do you remember the case when you replaced all the donation links on the main page with a link to your personal wepay? then you refused to turn over the control of the website to the internet working group after being confronted for basically fraud. Now patrick is running around making a leader of himself in what is supposed to be a leaderless movement. What gives?
If you think you can exploit the movement you will be called out.

I don't think any of these articles use the word official, calling him "a spokesman". Just to make sure I understand fully, are you objecting to him being referred to as an "official spokesperson" or being called a spokesperson at all?

here are some of the links: all in last 24 hours
Under which GA was he appointed official spokesman? one of the earliest GAs found that there will be no offical spokespeople...

Hi this is Justine. Emails go to me by default so for future reference Patrick's is email@example.com
First of all I agree with you that Patrick absolutely should not be an "official" spokesperson. Anyway I passed your message to him and he said that he was only official spokesperson for three days which was determined by consensus. He says that he was the one who chose to drop the title and when he held it the only thing he did was pass on press releases and factual info. He also asked me to tell you that he took offense to your tone and asks that you not be so harsh in the future.
Anyway sorry that I have to be the one passing this message along. You're welcome to contact him directly or sit down and chat with him.
Also may I ask, between you and me, what exactly provoked you to send this message? Did he call himself the official spokesperson recently to a reporter? Did someone publish an article referring to him as official spokesperson? If he did this I would obviously want to know.
