Agreed. We should have a CiviCRM up in the next day or so that can accept and log all donations, etc.

We should not be paying any support fees, only credit card transaction fees of 2.9% are acceptable. Anyone making 8% on our backs is ripping us off. There are hundreds of "Crowdfunding" websites that do the same thing. WE DONT NEED IT. All we need is in this one Paypal IPN Tracking Script:

You might want to bring Legal into this conversation. Email firstname.lastname@example.org
, he's the point of contact I know of on the legal team and can possibly give some very good advice.

Subject: Re: [NYCGA Internet] E-fundraising
He posted a generic email from victoria.
If he has the choice to post nycga links by posting his own he is.litterally dipping into our funds and taking 8%. If he moves forward and starts 100 more he could drown out our donation link (a little considering we have the domain .org)
Does anyone have finances email?
Peter said he'd take care of it but now this guy is posting an email from victoria that says "hello everyone"

I dunno if anyone has looked into the Nation Builder suite but it's created by activists for activists to fix these sort of disparate fundraising issues.

That should get addressed to the GA and Finance.
Where monies are accepted from is very important and should be a GA decision, and the Finance will have to deal with it. The new website should include an area for taking questions to be addressed by the GA.

There is a new wepay set up for OWS that apparently has the blessing of finance
However he is taking 8% for support costs plus 3.5% for wepay
He was originally raising money for tents until I asked him about it.
He took information from my profile on facebook and started telling people
That our general fund, was under attack and to give to him.
I tried telling him taking 11.5% is not needed when all he has to do
is post the nycga link.
He is a professional fundraiser (as am I) probably just trying to make money.
When I talked to him he accused me of trolling and lying.
Are we ok with ppl raising money for us online and "earmarking" 8% for
As a fundraiser myself I am worried about where this will end up.
He has stated to mr he is going to start 100 wepay accounts.
