I have added Permabank to the redmine instance here:
I vote we try it for a bit to see if it fits our needs.

Is there a code repo available?
What would you say to deploying it via aegir, then new Occupy's, or other organizations could get their own little permabank set up in seconds.
We'd have to find a way to fund the resources if it gets big, but for now, * on a small/medium server could handle it all.

Wow.  That's awesome that you took the initiative and did this.  Did you use the wireframes that were distributed last week?  Either way, there has been some discussion of eventually moving to Python, so we'll definitely check out what you did...  Any time you'll be able to make it back down?

Hey guys,

I don't suppose I could persuade you to develop in Python? For the past few days I've been working on building a gift / skill exchange site for OWS. I built an app (called Marcel) which is close to being ready for deployment. You can demo it here: The code is up on GitHub at

I'm sorry to leap out of the woodwork with this. I have a newborn baby and I've been sick for the past few days, so I simply haven't been able to keep up with meetings and emails. I don't mean to step on anybody's toes. I'd be happy to put this up as temporary solution and then point it to whatever Drupal-based product you come up with. If people think this could be a viable platform, I'll deploy an instance with OWS branding and better explanatory texts.

I plan to add search, editing posts, and more fluid login/logout -- it shouldn't take more than a day or two. I'd also like to add RSS/Atom feeds.

The code is poorly documented right now but it's pretty clean, and I'll be adding comments and documentation tomorrow. It's built on top of Flask, which is very simple to develop on. I would really love to continue working on it, but I don't want to sabotage some kind of collective undertaking. It really does sound like something like this is needed urgently, though.

Best, Ori

Re: the meeting tomorrow- it's cancelled!  The necessary conversations to get started occurred today, so we will be able to get started right away.  Dana will be setting up the git hub and redmine PM account coordinating the work moving forward, in close alignment with myself... She will be reaching out to the team I outlined at the beginning of this string.  Please anybody else who wants to pitch in, let us know...

Also, Keka, are you still on board for the visual design? - I have also copied the design WG back on this list to see if there are more people interested in making the site super slick!!

Dave, the author of that blog is a friend of mine, a number of people in FLO Solutions group member projects are on the shareable list and the communityforge developer is on our team. ;)

I'm not able to contribute to the project at all (doing other ows stuff with drupal) but wanted to make sure that you were aware of all the tools on these lists:

Particularly which purports to be a LETS system implemented in Drupal.

i can't offer actual work time (too many other #ows obligations, to say
nothing of client work), but if you folks haven't already gone all the
way through planning & speccing the drupal internals, i can definitely
help at that level.
