Great ya'll, like I said, thanks for the input, I intend to ask anyones permission before videos go to any other source.

This calls for more research and open document creation for media to educate all on how to utilize the outlets surrounding us, but find a compromise with them to reach the best deal for us, and not be taken advantage of. I say, for all the celebrities, I personally will not give them anything until they commit to us on more of a superficial level. Us shooting everything and licensing after consent by parties in the picture is our best compromise. Unfortunately this sounds a bit like totalitarian regimes, so there should be a balance, and over all more transparency, and if were not going to shoot something , if you're in solidarity with the world so that they can follow by example, be a representative for all the folks who aren't here who will miss an opportunity to view our wonderous movement if some one is trying to keep meetings private for whatever reason. Yes, consent is important.

Hey
It seems any Working Group would have to sign off on who is to 'buy'
and use the footage. To use OWSMedia cache to enter a group, with the
intent to sell the footage to an outside source, without notice to the
working group, would be a breach of trust.
Best,
Brennan

Hi,

Me saying 'building trust' is related to the following - over the past week
or so I have heard many folks saying they wish we (the media WG) could film
and archive (not release) their WG meetings. Thus far in many cases, there
has been a hesitancy to allow any of their meetings to be filmed by outside
media and if the media working group begins filming for other companies it
will blur the line and create a precedent that the entire group should
consider before acting.

Does this help explain my concern?

andrew - shld i plan to shoot this or not?
is there not a set policy on sharing footage and having an 'open
source' kind of policy with 'our' footage?
i am not clear on the 'building trust' issues presented could that be
clarified somewhere/how - is there a precedent set?

vangaurd is based out of san fran it may just be an issue of access
for them and logistics via timing

andrew - please let me know by say 12 tomorrow

thanks

hi Im Daniel,
I also want to support this sound recording of all meetings  with some
thoughts. My thought is simple and may be redirected to where needed.
At the general assembly meeting it is clear that sometimes people cant
make the meeting. It is also clear there is so much discussed there as
well as announcements following the soap box.

It may be documentive and multi resourceful that someone from media
and internet. or anyone who knows how to record a meeting. record the
daily meetings and then submit it to media and or internet to convert
it to mp3s or any form of sound for the web. If each day on the
www.nycga.net
site the recording of the general assembly, report backs, soap box and
any meeting public at occupy be posted for people to listen too and
get up to date as well as re listen to any possible key points people
might be able to collaborate on. The sound files will be farly small
and not so hard to post on site. basic media internet 101.

any thoughts ?

Can 2 people volunteer to shoot the facilitation meeting today (now,

and/or tomorrow with sound? This is something we can license to current
tv to use in their vanguard episode.

Where is the meeting tonight?
