Agreed,
I've been appalled at the amount of paper being produced to spread information on the Ground.
The Info, Media tables, etc should all have big QR codes on them so people can walk up, snap a picture and get to the website.

I know we dont want to depend on traditional social media channels for
OWS info; but the fact is that many people are getting their info from
posts on the various Occupy FB cause and community pages, as well as
the local FB pages for each city. I am getting my info in a large part
from my facebook feed as well.

I think there is an opportunity here to mobilize people via the mobile-
friendly social links with QR and short URL codes plastered around
meeting places. I agree that ultimately we want to detach from
corporate entities like FB and Twitter, and that we can make our own
solutions, but for now I think an interim strategy should be to get
people the basic info in as easy a way as possible on mobile devices.

We need to know whether the OWS main FB pages are part of the movement
or managed elsewhere - if they are sanctioned by OWS I recommend we
take advantage of this clear way of getting info out. I have some
ideas about QR deployment to social media portal pages, please keep
this in mind going forward.
