if they took it, and wrote down the name of one of our members of
camp, then that person probably has to be with me to pickup "their"
property. I heard an officer ask for an ID on the nyc2 livestream
loop of this seizure of property.
does anyone at camp know if we gave a name? did they tag the property
or issue a summons?
on way to studio/park in 15....

what is the legal situation here? can they arrest us for
issues a summons? don't they need a court order to take property?
My impression is that there was no crime committed. As I understand
it, it was the Fire Department, not the Police Department, that made
the sweep. They did that supposedly to get rid of fire hazards.
In my experience, if it were a crime, the NYPD would have used it to
clear the park weeks ago. They are experts at finding ways to
obscure laws in the service of shutting down protests. Think
without a permit" as a pretense for arresting people at Critical
Mass, and ticketing the rest for not having lights and bells.
I am not a lawyer, and this in not legal advice, but it is my
opinion that streaming this would be legal and awesome.
