This is great. I am in contact with someone from the Ushahidi group who wants to set up the platform for New York and London. I will see if we can't plug into this existing system. I am unsure about the details of the contacts intentions but feel free to contact me directly about this.

Hello, Occupiers!

As a start for the "Occupation Media Services" effort we've initiated, and to help Occupations worldwide identify themselves and share information about what's going on quickly and efficiently, I've set up an Ushahidi server at http://occupationplanet.org

Ushahidi (see http://ushahidi.com) is an open source software package developed to support disaster response efforts, but it seems like it's pretty adaptable to the movement's needs. I've got configuration left to do, but it's possible to submit reports to the site right now.

I've started with three basic categories: "Occupations", "Police Incident" and "Events". I can add more, or create finer distinctions within these, if people want that.

You should be able to create a report with the name and location of your occupation right now. Please check it out, and please spread the word!
