This Saturday thousands of people around the country are transferring their money from large corporate banks to small banks & credit unions.

We begin our day at Union Theological's James Chapel on the Upper West Side, after some fervor and an inter-choir rendition of our OWS anthem We Are The 99% (as we gather together) we will accompany people to nearby bank branches as they begin their money moving.

Then we head downtown to the Bank of America in Union Square (14th and University Place) where we will enact ritual glorification on a group of people removing their money from that singularly evil institution.

Join Us. Dress is festive, transcendent, outrageous. If you plan to move your money or already have and so wish to be glorified please let us know savitri(@)revbilly.com

    March

See link for flyer: http://nationalactionnetwork.net/events/74/ride-march-rally/

Join Man Up Inc., community activists, and gun violence victim’s loved ones as they journey from Browsvilles, Brooklyn to Liberty Plaza. This march will honor the memory of Zuranna Horton, a pregnant mother and Brownsville resident who was killed on October 21st, 2011 while shielding schoolchildren from a spray of gunfire. In marching to Liberty Plaza, the group will highlight the direct link between the social ills in inner city communities — such as gun and gang violence — and the rampant economic inequality that is at the heart of the Occupy Movement.

ROUTE:

At 12 noon, the group will convene at Watkins & Pitkins Avenue in Brownsvilles and ride in a symbolic funeral procession to the base of the Brooklyn Bridge (Camden Park). At 1:30, the group will march across the Brooklyn Bridge in silence with empty caskets representing Zuranna Horton and all of those whose lives were lost to gun violence in inner city communities. Once across the bridge, the group will hold rallies at three points in the ‘Corruption (Financial) District’ of Manhattan, dropping the caskets in front of the merrill lynch Bull and conclude with a rally at Zuccotti Park at around 3:00 PM.

Occupy Wall Street is a passionate movement that must maintain its glory.

There have been reports of transphobia, homophobia, and other cases of occupier vs occupier intolerance. This is simply not cute.

Novice queens, professional entertainers, and all our gorgeous allies are needed to raise awareness, spread love, and help people who have disagreements problem solve them with dignity. There will be glowsticks.

This Saturday night, we will organize our patrol after the General Assembly meets (which begins at 7pm). Feel free to check in at the LGBTQ table near the Library. We will walk the beat starting at 9pm. If you can stay well into the night, that would be great. It’s important to be visible so that our LGBTQ occupiers, and occupiers of all types, remain safe and respectful towards each other.

We’re all part of the 99%. Let’s unite!

Don’t forget to invite your friends!!
