Isn't anyone at liberty to pay for their own trip to Egypt and go...?

No approvals needed for that.

Hi Cari
You're right, I don't believe we have met -- I'm with the media working
group.
The info I put out re movement-building and the timeline for an amendment
came from another of our colleagues, Marisa Holmes who asked me to send it
out to our group. She ran down to 60 Wall last night to speak to MB to try
to buy us all some time on this. We spent all day yesterday talking with
activists on the ground in Egypt and people active on the issue here to try
to get a sense of where different people stand and what the possible role of
a delegation could be, given the political implications.  Believe it or not
there are many people, not just yourself, that are concerned about this.
The best way for us to be able to make informed decisions is to inform
ourselves and share information - I can tell you that I'll be sharing the
information I have with my WG at our Tuesday meeting.
Marisa was present at the meeting last night when movement-building
consensed upon the following timeline:
1. Wednesday eve - 1st Info session for all
2. Friday eve - 2nd info session culminating in consensus on either a new
proposal or a friendly amendment to the existing proposal
3. Sat GA - Either amendment or new proposal will be taken in front of the
GA, for consensus
If you still believe this info to be incorrect, pls contact Marisa so we
can clear it up.
Best

these are not 'assemblies'
comparatives like timeline/linear likenesses are illogical when we are
functioning in spheres - spiral cones - nodes non-linear models

those are not the 'biggest concerns'

the deepest concern is FOR ME that we would be possibly legitimizing a

optics - who cares - not me - i care about reality

i have never heard your name -
do i know you?
YOU are the unknown
your information is not correct here
we are working very hard and do not need people to put out
misinformation
please check our website for ACTUAL minutes of meetings and details

i am not going to correct all the exact misinformation here
but i will say we are not presenting anything to spokes council -
spokes council is a still forming body and beyond that we only present
proposals to the GA

Subject: Egypt

Dear comrades

This Egypt delegation has fast become a very controversial issue, and
it's clear to anyone who is a little informed as to the plurality of voices
on the ground in Egypt, that a clarifying statement of the delegation's
position on the upcoming parliamentary elections and possibly other matters
besides, will need to be added as a friendly amendment to the pre-existing
proposal.

The movement-building working group will hold an info session on
Wednesday which all are encouraged to please attend. Hopefully this will
clarify some important details it seems are still unknown to many people in
this working group and others.

Movement-building will be taking the responsibility of crafting the
amendment and will be taking ideas from anyone that wants to contribute.

On Friday, the friendly amendment will be presented to the Spokes
Council.

In Solidarity

Josh
