Again... this is a logistics oriented list.

Please don't take it as ignorance or a lack of caring about SOPA, net neutrality, etc. if you're not getting traction for your ideas here. , IMHO, what you're talking about is more a matter for Direct Action in terms of planning an action, or for any number of other groups in terms of outreach, issuing a statement re: American Censorship Day, and the like.

In the event that we *do* lose the freedom of the net and need workarounds for communication purposes... then this is the list you'd probably want to post on.

Hi All,
Glad to hear someone is reading my posts.  However, I'm not just informing you all of "whistleblower" issues.  SOPA affects the free internet, period.

I cannot express strongly enough that whistleblower issues are at the heart of all Occupy efforts because there were people trying to raise red flags to abuses of power in industry and government; i.e., banking, investing, Wall Street.  Gee, I thought this was what the movement was all about?

Happy to post somewhere else since it seems you all won't get it until one day your networks are shut down when government gets a court order that Occupy poses a threat to security.  Many of you want to be heard but don't want to listen to people who have real experience with retaliation.

There is no local GA where I am.  Good luck to you all and please delete me from this group.
Best,
Evy

Evy, no one 'runs' the internet groups and this list is focused on logistics, not policy, so I wouldn't be surprised if people here aren't organizing people to oppose this bill.

I'm trying to overcome a few substantial logistical hurdles right now.  When done, I'd love to engage in more policy work.

IMHO the best way for you to move forward is to pass a declaration in opposition to the legislation at your local GA and then forward us the link so we could propose the same/similar at our GA.

I'd really like to know who is running these internet groups?  I posted a notice of SOPA days ago in hopes it would get people to pay attention but no one responded.

It is vital for OWS to get behind opposition to the bill as written.  There are hearings in the House on Wednesday.

To read a full copy of the bill and learn what it means to everyone, please check my website.  Big Business is behind the bill!

Hey y'all,

We should get on this! Below is a link to American Censorship Day. It's a day of action in opposition to the Protect IP Act.

Here's a link to the site/video explaining more.

Yeah? Can we make it happen? Temperature check?
