Have we verified core / fixed network access to official Twitter clients?
could someone be blocking Twitter's backdoor /pvt APIs at some point in the signal chain? could explain access thru third party but not official clients

As I'm not seeing mobile twitter posts, I am fearing some kind of network, not app-related issue.

The Android and presumably iOS app for Ushahidi is confirmed to be working, so if you have signal but Twitter is down you can still make a report to maps.occupy.net

Got some confirmation of signal from Sprint by uninvolved third parties. Will see what else we can dig up.
If this blackout went down it would represent an intolerable escalation.
This stream is up! I don't know about the brooklyn bridge though.http://www.ustream.tv/occupycolleges

Reports to #occupymap have stopped.
Tweets to #n17 appear stale and recycled.
Livestreams have all gone black.
What is happening on the ground?
EVERYONE BE CAREFUL!
The escalation of violence is likely.
Beware the Brooklyn Bridge being cut off and the Occupation divided.
