That was my point. The crisis IS the value right now. But it cannot remain the only value for very long. American imagination is a fleeting thing. If we lose it, it's gone, and its' very hard to get back.
I have been urging people to understand that the entire import of this thing is to finally wake everyone up to the crisis. But at some point, we have to turn off the alarm clock and go to work actually fixing the crisis. "They" won't do it for us. I promise you that.
