They (with the Declaration) are pretty much trying the same strategy Adbusters did with the original September 17th call; if you announce it, they will come. My main issue with it is they're trying to imply (it seems) that they're somehow officially endorsed by the movement; if they clear that up, I wish them luck and may sorta participate. (Well, except for the whole "third party" thing, but that's a different can of tomatillos.)
The resolution to elect, on the other hand, I see as laughable on its face in about every way. Good luck getting the NYCGA to agree to electing 11 people (much less exactly who those people would be).

The Declaration and resolution to elect look like they are connected, since they both reference the July conference. Frankly I think it's brilliant. It's not a "list of demands" it's a working framework to procede. The actual demands are fungible, to be determined.
If OWS is all-inclusive, then I don't understand the "us" as opposed to "them."
There is clearly opportunity for anyone to join the process they have started, in fact, I think I will!

Did you see this Reolution of the NYCGA to elect an executive committee?
