Subject:   [september17discuss] This Little Light of Mine, I'm Gonna Let it Shine - To All of Us

Dear fellow occupiers:

Stepping back for a while and letting the dust settle gave me space to feel again and think. A window of time where my forgotten humanity, lost in the hurricane of action, came back and occupied my soul. The lesson it brought back is simple, and comes in versiprose:

'Sol' (solidarity). Hey. humanization comes before solidarity -
simply because 'sol' depends on empathy to the Other
down with the ego

when people, dehumanized by exhaustion, oppression, or alienation
try to say 'sol', they cannot make 'sol' mean more than an empty word

solidarity must always be fresh when dancing out of us
and humanizing ourselves, our movement, and the world
is how to let it shine.

moments like Times Square, the People's Square, unforgettable poetry

"This Little Light of Mine, I'm Gonna Let it Shine
"This Little Light of Mine, I'm Gonna Let it Shine
"This Little Light of Mine, I'm Gonna Let it Shine
"Let it Shine, Let it Shine, Let it Shine!"

This little light of the 99 - is our humanity.

take it back when needed. step back when needed.
let it shine once again

humanization, emancipation, solidarity
