Yesterday, 15 of us dressed up in suits and marched to the bull in a "Brokers and Police Supporting the Occupation" march.
Upon arriving at the bull, we were accompanied by a police contingent about 3x our size.
When they realized the whole thing was a big prank, and that we were never intending to do anything dangerous or arrestable, they simply drove off and left us there.

will you #occupy?
Easy solution: call off the cops. The ones down there know we don't need supervision.
Blaming non-violent folks for gun violence is like blaming fasting worshipers for obesity and stoics for noise pollution.

apparently, shootings have been going up in nyc as special crime-fighting units are pulled away from neighborhoods where they are needed and re-located to OWS protests:
The question, of course, is why do you need to use these "special units" to patrol protests that have been always peaceful? Perhaps because protecting private property is more important than protecting human lives, especially when those lives are those of the poor and disenfranchised?
