On further reflection after last night’s Labor Group meeting endorsed a national action for Nov.,2, I’ve thought that we should not call actions with little time and minimal or no implementation plans. Nov 2 will happen in NYC because we’ve already mobilized on the issue, and Direct Action & the GA will organize it. The Labor Group did nothing to plan its contribution too implementation after we voted to support it. Some occupations across the country are planning to act on their own. Egyptians have already had a support march! But I don’t know how much our national call will add.
Do we have any collaborators outside NY for Nov. 17? What will make it national?

How does it fit with your bigger plans for the month?
Very short notice for all.

November 2nd: National Day of Action in Solidarity with Occupy
and in Defense of the Occupy Movement Nationally Oakland
On October 25th, Occupy Oakland was brutally attacked by riot police. One protestor,
veteran Scott Olson, remains in critical condition. But on Wednesday, thousands of protestors re-occupied Iraq in courageous defiance of this attempt at repression. The Oakland General Assembly has called for a general strike on Wednesday, November 2nd. Given this call, and given the national attempt by mayors and police to repress and silence our movement, the Labor Outreach Committee of Occupy Wall Street is calling for a national day of action on November 2nd in solidarity with Occupy Oakland and in defense of the Occupy movement nationally. We urge students, labor, the unemployed and all members of the 99% to take action on that day to send a message that our movement will not be silenced. Oscar Grant Plaza
