I guess you don't have the full BDMV folder.

Final Cut Pro 7 and FInal Cut Pro X can import directly if you point

to the folder and convert to ProRes during import. FCPX should allow

you to start editing immediately while it's converting in the

background. That's why it's important to keep the folder intact. It

can save you hours of conversion time.

 

I've been doing this with my Canon Vixia HF200.
