Vlad --

We're just wrapping up now and starting earlier than I thought tomorrow, so Friday am might be better for me. Let me know if that works.

Yeah, Vlad that was me - Josh - throwing the early meeting idea out there -- British guy with HV20 :-)

Im on nights for the rest of the week so won't be able to make any evening trainings. I'll get someone to fill me in.

I'm a shooter by trade (see below for equipment list) and am bringing my own gear. Am happy to work with someone to tether my camera to a laptop for livestreaming -- will be my first time doing this and am excited about the possibilities -- but I also think it would be great if there was an option for a few cameras to go rogue at times and have greater freedom of movement without having to worry about the uplink and probs associated with that.

Regardless, it still makes sense for people to work in teams of 2, so it would just be great to know who will be working with who on Saturday. I know this has yet to be figured out and I'm sorry that I wont be able to join you all for more sessions beforehand.

Really looking forward to this and thank you to all for helping put it together :-))))

I'm going to shooting primarily with the HV20. Its easy to operate as a handheld, low profile, reliable, batteries have great amp hours and it has just enough manual control to be able to manipulate picture and sound. I recommend using monopods rather than tripods -- you can pick up a great carbon graphite bare bones monopod at Adorama for under $30. They make for much more flexible operating and work as great counter balances when you're doing handheld. I am making a couple of LED panel lights to rig to the camera so we can continue to shoot interviews into the night hours. If you don't own a panel light, I recommend visiting your local hardware store and picking up some $5 LED bricks - they come in all shapes and sizes and are super cheap. These run forever and can be taped to the camera. The light they give out tends to be super blue -- I'll be bringing color correction gels to share among anyone who needs them. If anyone is new to video and has any questions about equipment or technique please don't hesitate to contact me here with questions:

My gear

A camera:

Canon HV20 (12 hrs of continuous battery life)
w/ shotgun mike
Wide angle adaptor

Backup B & C cameras:
Flip cam
Lumix GH-1

I'll also be bringing some buss fuse adaptors and cable with me so we can tie into street lamps for power if need be. Obviously we'll need to set up charging stations, maybe at the office on Beaver?

Good luck everyone

Ok. Let's meet at 13 Thames. Can we make it 10?
11 is kind of late, and orig we said 8pm.
I was waiting to hear back about alternative meeting spots,
so that we'd have more space, but it will be fine.
I'm down with 13 Thames.
