That was the slogan of the Unemployed Workers Movement network (the
autonomous ones) in Argentina after the economic crisis in 2001.
Within each of these areas there were other specific topics - but they
kept with the generalities most of the time and it was quite
effective. It is also a lot easier to first agree to a few general
principles, and from there get specific than the reverse.
Dignity of course is less a demand and more a proclamation of
There is a long and wonderful history of sharing organizing principles
with social movements around the world. For example, the recuperated
workplace movement in Argentina uses the MST (Landless Movement of
Brazil) slogan, Occupy, Resist Produce.
