Dear Occupiers,


After several unsuccessful solicitations for guest speakers- Michael

Parent wishes us well and regrets that he can't be in New York; David

Harvey is out of the country; Richard Wolff promises to plug the

Occupation on his lecture circuit - I received an affirmative

commitment today from Stathis Gourgouris of Columbia University. Not

quite as much of a "household name", Stathis is, among other things, a

top-shelf anarchist intellectual who regularly teaches a class on

radical democracy at Columbia, and, perhaps more importantly, he is

"intrigued" by what we are doing and would like to speak at Liberty

Plaza. Stathis has been active at the Greek Syntagma and provided

several in-depth analysis of that movement for Al-Jazeera and other

major news sources. Also, he's a very kind man. I think this could be

a great addition to the Wall Street Occupation and, following on the

heels of Ivan's presentation, would help to further the trend of

drawing speakers to the space. So, what do you say? I suppose I

should begin by making a proposal at the GA, but doesn't this sound
