Subject:   [september17discuss] Support and Criticism from the World Socialist Web Site

Sometimes it's good to see some of the criticisms from the left. The

World Socialist Web Site is an excellent news source, and it's read by

many people who aren't just Trotskyists, including many anarchists or

non-Trotskyist socialists (I'm somewhere in that area - not a

Trotskyist, but I read this all the time).

They took a while to get around to talking about Occupy Wall St....

Their article was generally supportive, especially with regard to the

confrontation with the police and regarding the outlook of many

participants in the group (nice interviews), but also somewhat

critical of the organizers. Their main criticism starts out like

this:

"The organizers of the occupation have made a point of rejecting

'politics,' which essentially provides a cover for a perspective that

is clearly one of reforming the capitalist system though protest..."

By the way, there have also been at least two articles the past day or

so in CounterPunch too (though haven't really read them yet)...
